Habagat to bring scattered rains in Metro Manila, Luzon

Scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected in Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon due to the prevailing Southwest Monsoon, locally known as Habagat.

The Ilocos region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Abra, and Benguet will experience occasional heavy rainfall.

Metro Manila, the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of the Cagayan Valley Region, Central Luzon, and Rizal will have scattered rains and thunderstorms.

Moderate to heavy rains in these areas could result in flash floods or landslides, according to PAGASA.

The rest of Luzon and the country will experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon.

Strong winds and rough seas will prevail across extreme northern Luzon, and the western section of Luzon will also experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas.

PAGASA reported that there are no active low-pressure areas being monitored for potential tropical cyclone development.
