Govt disburses over P6 billion in aid to workers, farmers

President Rodrigo Duterte reported that a total of P3.013 billion in financial aid has been disbursed by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to 602,722 formal sector workers through its CAMP program.

Additionally, 73,352 overseas Filipino workers have received aid from DOLE's CAMP AKAP program, utilizing P750 million of its P1.5 billion budget.

DOLE's TUPAD program has provided P1.135 billion to 299,156 informal workers.

As of May 8, nearly 14.3 million families have received emergency cash aid, with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) reporting that 15.87 million beneficiaries have received their first tranche of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) subsidy.

The DSWD's Assistance to Individuals in Crisis (AICS) Program has distributed cash assistance to over 3.9 million Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) members, over 10.2 million non-4Ps members, and over 40,000 transport network vehicle service (TNVS) and public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers in the National Capital Region (NCR).

The Department of Agriculture's (DA) Financial Subsidy for Rice Farmers (FRSF) program has provided cash aid to 415,000 rice farmers.

The Small Business Wage Subsidy (SBWS) program, administered by the Social Security System (SSS), has released P10.1 billion in cash grants to 1,261,044 beneficiaries.

Around 27 accredited tour guides and kalesa drivers by the Department of Tourism (DOT) qualified for the National Commission for Culture and the Arts Assistance Program, receiving P5,000 in cash aid.

The Land Bank of the Philippines has launched an ACADEME lending program with P3 billion in funds to assist private educational institutions.

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has processed P3.6 billion in Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) for 120,798 grantees in private higher education, and P480 million for grantees in state and local universities and colleges.
