GMA Kapuso Foundation sends aid to Batanes

GMA Kapuso Foundation, through its Operation Bayanihan, has distributed relief goods to residents of Batanes affected by Super Typhoon Julian.

The Office of Civil Defense assisted the foundation in flying aid to the island province via a Philippine Air Force C130 plane.

Super Typhoon Julian affected 7,090 families and destroyed 2,124 houses, with 256 totally damaged, according to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office - Batanes.

Eight families remain in an evacuation center in Basco due to completely destroyed homes.

More than 600 families on Sabtang Island received relief goods and drinking water, with specific aid reaching residents of Barangay Sumnanga.

Many fisherfolk in Barangay Sumnanga had their livelihoods affected after their boats were destroyed, and water sources were broken.

GMA Kapuso Foundation's disaster relief efforts for Batanes are ongoing, with plans for further deliveries.
