Barangay Ginebra snaps losing streak with 102-93 win over Phoenix

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel secured a crucial 102-93 victory against Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters in the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup, snapping their losing streak.

RJ Abarrientos led Ginebra's offense with 25 points, supported by Scottie Thompson's 19 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and three steals, while Stephen Holt contributed 17 points, nine rebounds, and three assists.

Phoenix had rallied to erase an 18-point deficit, even taking a late eight-point lead in the fourth quarter, largely due to Prince Rivero's 28 points and Jason Perkins' contributions.

However, Ginebra mounted a decisive scoring run in the final minute, with Abarrientos tying the game with a three-pointer, Troy Rosario scoring the go-ahead basket, and Holt sealing the win with a triple, turning a 91-88 deficit into a 96-91 lead.

The win improves Ginebra's record to 3-4, placing them in a tie for seventh place with Meralco, while Phoenix drops to 2-6, sharing ninth spot with Titan Ultra.

This victory marks Ginebra's return to winning ways after a 106-96 loss to the Converge FiberXers.
