Tropical Depression Gener to make landfall in Isabela or Aurora

Tropical Depression Gener is expected to make landfall in Isabela or Aurora between Monday evening and early Tuesday morning.

As of 11 p.m., the storm was located over the coastal waters of Palanan, Isabela, with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph and gusts of up to 70 kph.

Gener is now moving westward at 25 kph and may emerge over the coastal waters of Ilocos Sur, La Union, or Pangasinan by Tuesday morning.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 is active over many Luzon areas, including Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, and northern Quezon.

The storm is enhancing the southwest monsoon, bringing heavy to intense rainfall to affected regions.

Gener may reach tropical storm category before landfall and is projected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.
