Fair weather to prevail across PH, habagat weakens

Fair weather conditions are expected across most of the Philippines on Monday, September 23, 2024, as the southwest monsoon (habagat) has weakened.

Easterlies, which originate from the Pacific Ocean, are now the dominant weather system affecting the country.

The Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Similar conditions may affect the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has confirmed that there are no low-pressure areas or typhoons within or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

Pagasa advised the public to stay vigilant, as severe thunderstorms may trigger flash floods or landslides.
