DSWD starts SAP 2nd tranche distribution to waitlisted beneficiaries

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has begun distributing the second tranche of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) cash subsidy to waitlisted beneficiaries in Region I and is set to proceed in Region III.

The agency aims to complete the distribution of SAP aid to waitlisted beneficiaries as soon as possible, ideally before the end of June.

Specific areas covered by the second phase of SAP distribution include Region III (excluding Aurora), NCR, CALABARZON, Benguet, Pangasinan, Iloilo, Cebu Province, Bacolod City, Davao City, Albay Province, and Zamboanga City.

Approximately 3.5 million of the five million waitlisted beneficiaries nationwide will receive both the first and second waves of cash aid.

The DSWD has already distributed over P6.74 billion in second tranche subsidies to more than 1.3 million Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) cash card holders.

The DSWD and local government units (LGUs) are intensifying efforts to recover duplicated SAP assistance from beneficiaries who received multiple aid.

For 4Ps beneficiaries who received excess grants, the amount will be deducted from their future cash grants, while LGUs are tasked with recovering duplicate cash assistance from non-4Ps beneficiaries.
