DSWD preposition food packs for Antique, Soccsksargen families

The DSWD-Western Visayas has prepositioned 2,600 family food packs in four towns in Antique province to assist families affected by the enhanced community quarantine due to Covid-19.

These food packs, valued at PHP360 each, contain essentials like corned beef, sardines, coffee, and rice, and are intended to last a family of five for two days.

The DSWD is coordinating with local government units (LGUs) in Antique, requesting them to submit lists of affected families to determine further needs.

The department will provide additional food packs to LGUs that have already utilized their calamity funds to support their constituents during the quarantine period.

Meanwhile, the DSWD-12 in Soccsksargen has also prepared relief packages for residents severely affected by heightened community quarantine measures in their region.

Director Cezario Joel Espejo of DSWD-12 stated that they have standby stocks of family food packs ready for augmentation to LGUs whose quick response funds (QRF) may run out.

Affected localities in Region 12 must submit a letter of request, certificate of non-availability of QRF, distribution plan, and list of recipients to avail of assistance.

A standard family food pack in Region 12 contains six kilos of rice, four cans of corned beef, four cans of sardines, and six packs of energy drink or coffee.
