DSWD Caraga prepares 18,000 food packs for Covid-19 response

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 13 in Caraga has prepared 18,000 family food packs worth over P6.5 million to support families affected by the Coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

These food packs are being prepositioned in six strategic warehouses across the Caraga provinces for immediate distribution to local government units (LGUs) if needed.

At least 14,000 of these food packs have been prepared in Butuan City.

DSWD-13 also has a standby fund of PHP3 million for immediate procurement of additional food packs if necessary.

Community quarantines are in effect throughout the Caraga region to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

As of Tuesday, Caraga reported zero Covid-19 cases, with 32 patients under investigation and 6,485 persons under monitoring.
