As of May 2, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has distributed over P60.6 billion in Social Amelioration Program (SAP) cash subsidies to more than 11.3 million beneficiaries nationwide.

This represents 62.8% of the 18 million households targeted to receive cash assistance.

Of the total funds distributed, over P43.9 billion went to more than 7.5 million low-income, non-Pantawid Pamilya (4Ps) families.

Additionally, 3.7 million 4Ps beneficiaries received P16.4 billion, and 84,000 4Ps beneficiaries who are not cash card holders received P327 million.

Subsidies were also provided to 40,418 transport network vehicle service (TNVS) and public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers, amounting to P323 million.

Under the Bayanihan to Heal As One Act, 18 million low-income households are entitled to P5,000 to P8,000 monthly subsidies for two months.

The DSWD commended 35 residents of Barangay Gambang in Bakun, Benguet, who waived their SAP slots for other qualified families.
