DSWD distributes over 890,000 food packs to typhoon victims

Over 5,000 family food packs are currently en route to Batanes via a Philippine Coast Guard vessel and are expected to arrive by tonight or early morning tomorrow.

Additionally, around 7,000 food packs are being prepared for transport to Batanes via a C130 aircraft.

Families in provinces such as Albay, Camarines Sur, Masbate, Sorsogon, Antique, Iloilo, Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Biliran, Northern and Western Samar, Zamboanga, and Mountain Province remain in evacuation centers.

The DSWD is also coordinating with the Department of Health (DOH) to address illnesses reported in evacuation centers.
