DSWD FO-5 distributes P339M aid to storm-hit families

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 5 in Bicol Region has distributed over P339 million in humanitarian aid to families affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.

This assistance included 35,000 family food packs, bottled water, and other non-food items delivered promptly to Naga City.

A total of 462,969 families have received aid from the DSWD FO-5.

Financial assistance amounting to P20.91 million was also provided through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) and Ayuda Para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP).

DSWD FO-5 Regional Director Norman Laurio highlighted the importance of a whole-of-government approach, as directed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., in ensuring disaster response reached even isolated areas in Bicol.
