DPWH, Sunwest execs to surrender over Mindoro flood control project

Negotiations are underway for the surrender of several Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officials and Sunwest Inc. executives implicated in an anomalous flood control project in Oriental Mindoro.

The Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) has confirmed that three wanted individuals, including one currently abroad, have indicated their willingness to surrender.

Acting CIDG director Maj. Gen. Robert Morico II stated that while negotiations for surrender are ongoing, warrants of arrest will still be pursued.

Morico also clarified that not all individuals involved are major players, with some potentially acting as "dummies."

Seven individuals are still at large, including DPWH Region-4B Materials Engineer Timojen Sacar, who is reportedly in Israel.

The remaining six fugitives are executives from Sunwest Inc., the construction company connected to former lawmaker Zaldy Co, who is also among those wanted.
