Two officials of Sunwest Construction and Development Corporation, owned by former lawmaker Zaldy Co, have sent surrender feelers to authorities amid manhunt operations.
CIDG Director Police Major General Robert Alexander Morico II stated that the two officials are afraid due to lack of legal representation and capacity to hire lawyers, describing their corporate titles as 'dummy' roles.
Relatives of these two executives reached out to the CIDG through back-channel communications, expressing their willingness to surrender.
The CIDG assured that the rights of the individuals would be respected upon their surrender.
Previously, police attempted to serve arrest warrants for three Sunwest officials – Consuelo Aldon, Noel Cao, and Anthony Ngo – at a hotel last November 28, but failed.
The three are wanted in connection with alleged corruption involving "ghost" flood control projects.
Four other Sunwest-linked personalities, including Zaldy Co, remain abroad, and the CIDG is working with the DFA and NBI to monitor their movements and cancel their passports.
A Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) official implicated in the cases is also overseas, currently in Israel.
