DPWH seeks immigration lookout bulletin vs ex-Sec Bonoan, Candaba Mayor over alleged ghost projects

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon has requested the Department of Justice (DOJ) to issue an immigration lookout bulletin order (ILBO) against former DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan, Candaba Mayor Rene Maglanque, and corporate officers of MBB Global Properties Corporation.

This request, relayed to Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla on Sept. 8, complies with a directive from President Marcos.

The ILBO specifically names Bonoan's daughter Fatima Gay dela Cruz, Maglanque's daughter Macy Monique, and Sunshine Bernardo, corporate secretary of MBB Global Properties Corp.

Senator Panfilo Lacson stated that MBB Global Properties Corporation, reportedly co-owned by Bonoan, Maglanque, and former DPWH undersecretary Roberto Bernardo, secured multi-billion peso contracts from the DPWH.

The investigation into DPWH officials and construction companies concerns alleged ghost projects and/or substandard construction of flood control projects.

Dizon emphasized the necessity of the ILBO to prevent delays in the investigation and ensure accountability.
