DPWH launches Lakbay Alalay for Holy Week motorists

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is launching its 'Lakbay Alalay' program starting April 16 to provide roadside assistance and ensure safer travel for motorists during the Holy Week.

The DPWH-Bicol (DPWH-5) will establish 24 motorist assistance centers (MACs) manned by 170 personnel across the region.

These centers will be strategically placed along Bicol's major roads from April 16, 8 a.m., to April 19, 5 p.m.

Composite teams trained to provide immediate assistance for vehicle malfunctions and emergencies will be on a round-the-clock shift.

The MACs will be easily recognized by their navy-blue tents and tarpaulins for public visibility and accessibility.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan emphasized the department's commitment to smoother travel and addressing motorists' challenges, with regional directors ensuring national roads remain safe and accessible.
