DOTr logs nearly 58K free train rides for vaccinated APORs
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) offered free rides on MRT-3, LRT-2, and PNR to vaccinated authorized persons outside of residence (APORs) from August 3 to August 20.
During the first day of the program, nearly 58,000 free train rides were logged for vaccinated APORs.
The LRT-2 provided 13,708 free rides, the MRT-3 gave out 40,710, and the PNR served 3,366.
To avail of the free rides, passengers must present their vaccination cards and proof of identification.
The initiative aims to encourage vaccination during the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila.
During the ECQ, only APORs are allowed to board public transportation.
