PNP rolls out 'Libreng Sakay' in ECQ areas
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) are offering free rides to assist Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APORs) during the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the National Capital Region (NCR) and nearby provinces until August 20, 2021.
The AFP's Joint Task Force (JTF)-NCR is providing free rides along three specific routes within Metro Manila.
The PNP's Libreng Sakay program operates on 10 routes daily from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar stated that this program is the PNP's way of providing mobility and extended services to APORs so they can attend to their work with convenience.
In addition to free rides, passengers will also be provided with personal protective gears such as face masks, bottled water, and information materials as supplies allow.
