Tugade leads launch of vaccination program for transport workers
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has launched the "TsuperHero Kasangga ng Resbakuna" vaccination program for public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers, conductors, and other transport workers.
The program aims to protect transport workers, considered heroes, who interact with many people daily and travel to various locations.
Initially, five buses have been converted into mobile vaccination sites, with three units utilized to inoculate at least 1,000 transport workers every Saturday.
This initiative is a partnership among the DOTr Road Transport Sector, the Department of Health (DOH), the Mega Manila Consortium Corporation (MMCC), the Parañaque City government, and the PITX.
Transportation Secretary Arthur P. Tugade emphasized the importance of vaccinating these workers due to their constant exposure.
