The Department of Justice (DOJ) confirmed the transfer of an eighth person of interest in the Percy Lapid slay case to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) custody.
This latest person of interest was transferred from an Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP) detention facility.
DOJ Assistant Secretary Jose Dominic F. Clavano IV expressed hope that this individual can provide relevant information on the case.
The NBI currently has four other persons of interest in its custody, including the sister of Jun Villamor.
Villamor was identified by Joel Escorial as the New Bilibid Prison detainee who hired him to kill Percy Lapid for P550,000.
Escorial stated that he received P140,000 of the reward money after the killing, which was transferred to his bank account.
