DMW launches ‘Kumusta Kabayan App’ to monitor, respond to OFW issues in realtime
The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has inaugurated its provincial office in Zambales to better serve overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families.
The new DMW Zambales Provincial Office is located in Barangay Palanginan, Iba, and was formally opened on September 17, 2025.
DMW Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac and Governor Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. signed a Memorandum of Agreement to strengthen cooperation between the DMW and the provincial government.
This collaboration aims to ensure the welfare and rights of OFWs residing in Zambales.
Governor Ebdane highlighted the convenience the new office will bring to OFWs in the province.
During the inauguration, 23 former OFWs received livelihood assistance through the DMW's Balik Pinay, Balik Hanapbuhay program.
The DMW also launched the 'Kumusta Kabayan' app to monitor and provide timely support for migrant workers by allowing them to report abusive employers and document exploitative conditions.
