DILG, NDRRMC urge compliance with evacuation orders

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) are urging the public to comply with preemptive evacuation orders.

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año specifically advised residents in low-lying areas to adhere to these measures, emphasizing the expectation of public participation, cooperation, and discipline.

Local Government Units (LGUs) in the Bicol region are reminded by the NDRRMC to step up information dissemination, especially in areas with no network signal.

Sea travel has been suspended due to the tropical cyclone.

LGUs are mandated to implement Oplan Listo protocols and preposition essential supplies, equipment, and personnel for a swift response.

Local governments must also activate their barangay disaster councils to facilitate early warning systems and maintain vigilant monitoring of areas prone to floods and storm surges.
