The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) anticipates the repatriation of over 27,400 more Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) within the next three weeks.

As of Wednesday, 54,736 OFWs have been repatriated since February, comprising 30,645 seafarers and 24,091 land-based workers.

The DFA is also working to repatriate an additional 167,600 Filipinos stranded abroad in the next two to three months, primarily from the Middle East.

Globally, 8,324 Filipinos have tested positive for COVID-19, with 2,759 currently undergoing treatment, 5,057 recovered, and 508 deaths.

In Saudi Arabia, the government is arranging the repatriation of 287 deceased OFWs, 107 of whom succumbed to the coronavirus.
