Davao City police are urging victims of alleged sexual abuse by Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy to come forward and file complaints.
Davao City Police Office acting director Colonel Hansel Marantan confirmed that five underage female members of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) Pastoral Community have accused Quiboloy of rape.
Marantan stated that some victims were allegedly lured with free education in exchange for pastoral services, with some claiming to have been abused by Quiboloy himself.
He personally interviewed two of the accusers and communicated with the other three via video call, finding their statements credible.
The victims claim Quiboloy threatened them with "angels of death" if they revealed the alleged abuse.
The DCPO plans to transfer the victims to a safe house in Manila to ensure their safety.
KOJC legal counsel Israelito Torreon stated he needs to verify the information and is unaware of the victims' identities.
Marantan assured that law enforcers would show the same decisiveness in helping them as they did in serving the arrest warrants against Quiboloy, who was arrested on Sunday, September 8, with four co-accused.
The DCPO expects more victims to surface following Quiboloy's arrest.
