DA launches Kadiwa on Wheels in remote villages

The Department of Agriculture (DA) 13 launched "Kadiwa on Wheels" in three remote villages in Butuan City to provide affordable food supplies to residents affected by the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

This initiative, a collaboration with BFAR 13, local farmers, and entrepreneurs, aims to bring the market directly to communities with limited access to food during the quarantine period.

Residents of Barangays Pagatpatan, Agusan Pequeño, and Bading benefited from the mobile market, purchasing fresh produce, meats, and fish.

The program also supports local farmers by providing them a venue to sell their goods directly, thereby helping them survive the economic impact of the ECQ.

DA-13 emphasized that health protocols such as social distancing and the mandatory wearing of face masks were strictly observed during the mobile market operations.

The consolidated gross sales from the "Kadiwa on Wheels" event in the three villages reached PHP79,440.
