DA implements food fast lanes for Metro Manila

The Department of Agriculture (DA) is implementing "food fast lanes" for cargo vehicles delivering food to Metro Manila during the COVID-19 community quarantine.

These "green lanes" aim to ensure an adequate food supply in the National Capital Region.

Accredited vehicles must present passes and display decals, while drivers and passengers must also present accreditation documents and IDs.

The Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) will issue decals for vegetables and root crops, the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) for poultry and meat, and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) for fish and aquaculture products.

The National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) will issue passes for processed meat.

Suppliers accredited for these food lanes will be exempted from local government unit restrictions from their point of origin to their destination and vice versa.

To be accredited, vehicles must present their Official Receipt of Registration (OR) and Certificate of Registration (CR), along with a food lane reference form and a sworn statement of commitment.

Drivers and delivery crew will undergo standard quarantine measures such as temperature checks.
