Converge breaks 3-game skid with 107-99 win over NorthPort

Converge ended their three-game losing streak with a 107-99 victory over NorthPort in the PBA Season 49 Governors' Cup.

The FiberXers, after leading by as much as 16 points, found themselves trailing by eight in the fourth quarter before a decisive 18-3 run in the final stretch secured the win.

Alec Stockton led Converge with 21 points, including a critical and-1 play, while Schonny Winston contributed 17 points and nine rebounds.

Converge coach Franco Atienza credited their local stars for stepping up, especially in the payoff period, with import Scotty Hopson struggling.

NorthPort's free throw attempts were notable, with 36 made shots from 57 attempts, the ninth most in PBA history and the most since 2014.

With the win, the FiberXers are now tied with the Batang Pier at the fourth spot of Group A with a 3-4 win-loss slate, improving their playoff prospects.
