Castro's triple seals TNT win over Converge

Jayson Castro's clutch three-pointer was instrumental in TNT Tropang Giga's 98-91 victory over Converge in the 2024 PBA Governors' Cup.

This win marked TNT's third consecutive victory, improving their record to 5-1 and allowing them to reclaim the lead in Group A.

The victory also served as payback for a previous 96-95 loss to Converge, where Scotty Hopson hit a game-winning quadshot.

Coach Chot Reyes highlighted Rey Nambatac's significant impact, stating that Nambatac's performance allows veteran Jayson Castro to play quality minutes, being well-rested.

Nambatac, a new acquisition, had 14 points in the first half before Castro took over in the latter periods.

Castro, who finished with 14 points, expressed his readiness for crucial possessions, stating, "As a veteran, my teammates and coach Chot trusted me with that play, so I needed to find a way for us to execute."

TNT import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson led the team with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Rey Nambatac added 17 points.
