Cone admits Ginebra embarrassed by TNT's dominant Game 1 performance

Barangay Ginebra coach Tim Cone admitted that his team felt “embarrassed” after absorbing a dominant 104-88 loss to TNT in Game 1 of the PBA Governors' Cup Finals.

Cone stated that TNT played exceptionally well while Ginebra was not as prepared, effectively neutralizing their usual game plan.

The loss was Ginebra's most significant defeat of the current playoffs and marked their lowest scoring output in a while.

Despite entering the finals as the top three-point shooting team, Ginebra struggled immensely from beyond the arc, making only 2 out of 21 attempts (9.5%).

The team failed to hit a single three-pointer for the first three quarters, by which point TNT had already established a commanding lead.

Key players Scottie Thompson and RJ Abarrientos also had subpar performances, contributing only 7 and 5 points respectively, with a combined 2-of-10 shooting from three-point range.
