Comelec to release initial list of candidates Oct 29

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will publish an initial list of candidates who filed their Certificates of Candidacy (COC) for the upcoming midterm elections by October 29.

Comelec spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco stated that this initial list will be available on the Comelec website before the end of October.

However, Laudiangco clarified that inclusion in this initial list does not guarantee a candidate's eligibility to run, as various cases such as petitions to cancel or deny COC, disqualification, or declaration as nuisance candidates are expected to be processed in October.

These submitted COCs will undergo a rigorous review process.

Several provinces and cities from the Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, and Cagayan Valley have already submitted their election documents to the Comelec.
