Comelec holds e-raffle for party-list ballot order

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will hold an electronic raffle on October 18 to determine the order of listing for party-list groups on the official ballot for the 2025 midterm elections.

This new policy aims to prevent party-list groups with names starting with numbers or letters like 'A' from having an advantage in ballot placement.

Comelec spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco stated that the raffle will be livestreamed to ensure transparency.

The electronic raffle is scheduled for 9 a.m. on October 18 at the Comelec office in Intramuros, Manila, and will be simultaneously aired through the poll body's official streaming platforms.

Comelec en banc Resolution No. 11074 identified 156 eligible groups, including 113 existing organizations, 42 newly registered ones, and one group with a Supreme Court restraining order.
