Comelec to make public COC, spending reports
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will publish the certificates of candidacy (COC) and Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance (CONA) of all aspirants for the 2025 national and local elections on its website two weeks after the filing period.
Comelec Chair George Erwin Garcia stated that the posting will commence on October 18, 2024, to allow for the submission of COCs from various provinces and municipalities.
The filing period for COCs is scheduled from October 1 to October 8, 2025.
This initiative aligns with the Data Privacy Act and aims to serve as public notification regarding the qualifications declared by the candidates for the positions they are seeking.
Additionally, all venues for the filing of COCs and the number of positions per province will be posted online.
Following the elections, the Comelec will also make public the statements of contributions and expenditures.
For the 2025 polls, mall and internet voting will be implemented, with 171 venues nationwide for mall voting that will prioritize villages surrounding the establishments.
