Comelec distributes 70% of voter info sheets nationwide

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has distributed 70 percent of the voter information sheets (VIS) nationwide with seven days before the May 9 polls.

As of Monday, May 2, the Comelec has distributed 46,004,200 of the 65,709,572 total VIS.

Distribution has reached 100 percent in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Region 1, and Region 3.

The VIS contains essential information including the voter's name, polling precinct, voting instructions, do's and don'ts, and a list of candidates.

Commissioner George Garcia previously stated that the VIS can serve as proof of registration and was not distributed in previous elections like 2019 or 2016.

The poll body noted there are about 65.7 million domestic voters and 1.8 million overseas Filipinos registered for the upcoming polls.
