Comelec: All systems go for May 9 elections

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has declared that all systems are go for the May 9 national and local elections.

Commissioner Marlon Casquejo stated that the Comelec is 100 percent all set for the elections and failure is not an option.

Over 70,000 clustered precincts have completed the final testing and sealing (FTS) of vote counting machines (VCMs), with any identified problems already addressed.

As of May 5, 355 VCMs and 44 SD cards were found defective and require replacement, a number significantly lower than in the 2019 elections.

Almost all poll paraphernalia, including VCMs, ballot boxes, and official ballots, have been dispatched.

The Comelec has 1,100 contingency VCMs ready and has established eight repair hubs across Mindanao, Visayas, and Luzon.

Nearly 90 percent of voter information sheets have also been distributed to voters.
