Comelec-NBOC nearly done with senators, party-list canvassing
The Commission on Elections (Comelec), sitting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), has canvassed 149 out of 173 Certificates of Canvass (COCs) for the May 9 elections.
The NBOC is still awaiting 24 COCs, with some to be electronically transmitted from Jordan, Hong Kong, and Lanao del Sur.
The remaining 21 COCs are expected to be manually delivered to the canvassing site, including 19 from overseas posts, one from the Vulnerable Sectors Office, and one from 64 villages in North Cotabato.
The NBOC is currently canvassing votes for senators and party-list groups.
Actor Robin Padilla maintained the top spot in the senatorial race with 23,908,730 votes in the previous update.
Comelec acting spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco expects the final voter turnout to be around 80.5 to 81 percent.
