Comelec: 99.95% of VCMs pass final testing and sealing

99.95% of the vote counting machines (VCMs), totaling 106,125 out of 106,174 clustered precincts, have completed their final testing and sealing for the elections.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) acting spokesperson Atty. John Rex Laudiangco reported that only 49 precincts had yet to submit their reports as of Monday morning.

Most of the remaining precincts, 47 to be exact, were from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Some areas, including precincts in Socorro, Oriental Mindoro and Silvino Lobos, Northern Samar, faced delays in completing the process due to a lack of test ballots.

These affected areas were permitted by the Comelec to use three test ballots instead of the usual ten.

All other regions, from NCR down to Caraga, reported 100% completion of the final testing and sealing.

A single VCM in Cotabato City experienced a minor issue, but voting is expected to proceed as planned in the area.
