China donates test kits, PPE to PH

The Philippines received 100,000 RT-PCR-based Covid-19 test kits, 100,000 surgical masks, 10,000 N95 masks, and 10,000 sets of PPE from China.

The test kits were handed over by Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian to Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. at NAIA Terminal 1 in Manila.

The kits, called Novel Coronavirus Nucleic Acid Diagnostic Kit (PCR-Fluorescence Probing), will be distributed by RITM to sub-national laboratories.

The donation was delivered amid a dire shortage of PPE among health professionals and law enforcers in Luzon under enhanced community quarantine.

Foreign Affairs Secretary Locsin described the donation as 'a tremendous help' in addressing the country's Covid-19 situation.
