Cebu gov places province under state of preparedness due to coronavirus

Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia signed an executive order on February 4, placing the province under a state of preparedness due to the novel coronavirus threat.

The provincial government has identified four public facilities for quarantine purposes: Eversly Child Sanitarium in Consolacion, Mandaue General Hospital, the New Life Facility in Pinamungajan, and the Women and Children Development Center in Lahug.

These facilities can accommodate up to 250 individuals.

Filipinos and permanent residents arriving from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau will undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine at the Eversly Child Sanitarium.

The province's preparedness measures were established before President Rodrigo Duterte ordered a travel ban.

Fourth District Provincial Board Member Kerrie Shimura, Chairperson of the Committee on Health and Social Services, was an author of the resolution.
