Cavite authorities seize ₱204M suspected shabu from abandoned suitcase

Authorities discovered approximately 30 kilograms of suspected shabu, valued at ₱204 million, inside an abandoned suitcase in a vacant lot in Naic, Cavite.

The discovery was made early Thursday morning, June 20, after a security guard noticed the suspicious luggage.

Police found 30 heat-sealed packs of the illegal substance within the suitcase.

The presence of three surveillance cameras near the suitcase led investigators to believe it was part of a 'dead drop' operation for drug trafficking.

Witnesses reported an MPV roaming the area before the drugs were discovered, suggesting a transaction was imminent.

This 'dead drop' method is employed to evade direct apprehension during drug transactions, with the cameras likely used to monitor the intended pickup.

The incident is still under investigation.
