Bulacan starts testing priority patients with 100 kits from DOH

Swabbing of priority patients has commenced in Bulacan using 100 test kits from the DOH, with collected specimens to be sent to the Lung Center of the Philippines for testing.

The initiative began after a meeting of the Bulacan Inter-Agency Task Force for COVID-19.

The province is also preparing to open its dedicated Bulacan COVID-19 Center for positive patients, awaiting necessary equipment.

To address potential quarantine needs, the province is exploring the use of hotels and resorts as isolation areas under the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.

As of April 22, Bulacan reported the lowest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among provinces bordering the National Capital Region, with a total of 104 cases.

There are currently four patient care centers in the province: the new building of the Bulacan Medical Center, the MAB building in Barangay San Pablo, the College of Social Science and Philosophy building of the Bulacan State University-Main Campus, and the Provincial Government of Bulacan-Governance Center.
