BOC-NAIA clears over 20M COVID-19 vaccine doses

The Bureau of Customs-Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA) has cleared over 20 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines since February.

This includes shipments of Sputnik V from Russia and AstraZeneca from the United Kingdom.

The latest cleared shipment consisted of 1,124,100 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines donated by the Japanese government.

These vaccines arrived via an All Nippon Airlines flight at Villamor Air Base and were consigned to the Department of Health (DOH).

President Rodrigo Duterte and officials from the Japanese Embassy, NTF against Covid-19, and IATF-EID witnessed the arrival of the donation.

AstraZeneca is the second COVID-19 vaccine brand imported into the Philippines, following Sinovac.

This marks the fourth batch of AstraZeneca vaccines to arrive and the 26th batch of COVID-19 vaccines cleared by the BOC.
