The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has successfully cleared 500,000 doses of Sinovac vaccines, purchased by the Department of Health (DOH) from China.
These vaccines arrived via Flight PR 361 from Beijing on Sunday afternoon and were processed for release within 15 minutes by the BOC-Port of NAIA.
Following clearance, the shipment was promptly transferred to the Metropac facility in Marikina City to maintain vaccine integrity.
BOC Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero affirmed the bureau's commitment to expediting vaccine processing while preventing the entry of unregistered medical goods.
To date, the BOC has facilitated the release of over 3.02 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines for the DOH.
NAIA District Collector Carmelita Talusan highlighted ongoing efforts to streamline clearance procedures for vaccines and related medical supplies through inter-agency coordination.
