Bicol police tightens coordination with fisherfolk after recovery of underwater drone
The Police Regional Office 5 (PRO-5) in Bicol has heightened security in coastal areas after fishermen discovered a suspected Chinese underwater drone, marked HY-119, in the municipal waters of San Pascual, Masbate on December 30, 2024.

Following the recovery, PRO-5 Director Brigadier General Andre Dizon instructed police units in coastal areas to coordinate with local governments and coastal communities.
Fisherfolk have been advised to report any suspicious objects they find in Philippine waters but not to recover them, instead taking pictures and reporting to the Philippine National Police, Philippine Coast Guard, or Philippine Navy.
