35 Indonesians deported from PH for illegal POGO work

Thirty-five Indonesians were deported from the Philippines after being apprehended for working in a Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) firm in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

The group, consisting of nine men and 26 women aged 20 to 30, departed the country on October 22 and have been blacklisted by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) to prevent their re-entry.

They were part of over 100 foreign nationals discovered engaged in illegal online gaming and scam activities during a BI raid on a resort in Barangay Agus, Lapu-Lapu City on August 31.

Authorities found makeshift workstations within the resort that were used for their illicit operations.

Immigration Commissioner Joel Viado stated that the BI remains committed to upholding President Marcos' directive to ban POGO activities and will continue collaborating with other agencies to bring offenders to justice.
