BI arrests 2 South Korean fugitives
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has arrested two South Korean fugitives, Nam Sundong and Lee Hyunhak, who are wanted by their government for drug smuggling and operating illegal gambling dens.
Nam is wanted by the Ulsan District Court for establishing gambling facilities, with an Interpol red notice issued in 2023.
Lee is wanted for conspiring to import 480.85 grams of methamphetamine, valued at over P208,000, into South Korea, and an Interpol Red Notice was issued for him earlier this month.
The BI Fugitive Search Unit apprehended Nam in Las Piñas City and Lee in Clark, Pampanga.
Both individuals had their South Korean passports canceled and are currently detained at the BI Warden Facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig, awaiting deportation.
