Alice Guo's sister, Cassandra Ong repatriated from Indonesia

Cassandra Ong and Shiela Guo, sister of dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo, have been repatriated to the Philippines from Indonesia on Thursday afternoon, Aug. 22.

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) announced their arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 via Philippine Airlines flight PR 540 from Jakarta.

BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco stated that the two women were considered illegal aliens by Indonesian immigration as they are wanted in the Philippines.

Upon arrival, Ong and Guo were escorted by operatives of the BI's Intelligence Division and Fugitive Search Unit.

The BI coordinated with Indonesian counterparts after learning the group, including Alice Guo, traveled to Batam, Indonesia on Aug. 18.

Intelligence information indicates a Singaporean man assisted the group by booking their stay in Indonesia.

The two women were intercepted by the Indonesian investigation team from the Directorate of Wasdakim as they were allegedly about to depart Batam Island.
