Bato Dela Rosa open to reopening sabungero probe

Senator Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa is willing to reopen the Senate inquiry into the disappearance of 34 cockfighting enthusiasts if a resolution is filed by his colleagues.

Dela Rosa previously chaired the Senate committee on public order and dangerous drugs investigation into the missing sabungeros in 2022, a probe that has since been closed.

The committee's report recommended that the PNP continue the investigation.

Dela Rosa indicated his willingness to resume the probe if another senator formally initiates the process through a resolution, which if referred to his committee, he would reopen.

Malacañang stated that an extensive investigation into the missing sabungeros case should be done, especially after Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin "Boying" Remulla linked those allegedly involved to the drug war.
