Barangay Ginebra clinches 5th seed after beating Titan Ultra

Barangay Ginebra defeated Titan Ultra, 108-105, to clinch the fifth seed in the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup with a 7-4 record.

This victory sets up a quarterfinal matchup for Ginebra against the Converge FiberXers, who hold a twice-to-beat advantage as the fourth seed.

Coach Tim Cone attributed the team's slow start and halftime deficit to fatigue from a 10-hour flight returning from Bahrain, where they secured a win against Rain or Shine.

Despite trailing by 13 points at halftime, Ginebra rallied to cut the lead to two by the end of the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Ginebra built a lead of 102-94, but a seven-point play by Joshua Munzon for Titan Ultra narrowed the gap to 102-101 with 28 seconds remaining.

Stephen Holt led Ginebra with 27 points, and RJ Abarrientos added 24 points, including 15 in the decisive final quarter.
