Bacolod police seize P6.8M shabu, arrest 3 suspects

Bacolod City police arrested three high-value drug suspects and confiscated P6.8 million worth of shabu in separate operations over the weekend.

A buy-bust operation on Sunday night in Barangay Singcang-Airport resulted in the arrest of Biboy, 37, of Barangay Villamonte, and the seizure of P3.4 million worth of shabu.

He is considered a high-value individual in the illegal drugs trade and was monitored for two months.

Another operation early Monday morning in Barangay 9 led to the arrest of an elderly businesswoman, Elizabeth, 60, of Barangay 27, and her companion, alias Jupet.

They were apprehended with P3.4 million worth of shabu, with Elizabeth identified as a big-time supplier in the city.

These operations are part of intensified security measures for the opening of the 45th MassKara Festival, and police expect the arrests to reduce the supply of illegal drugs during the event.

The prevailing street price for shabu is PHP6,800 per gram, according to the BCPO.
