Alex Eala is being eyed by the Philippine Tennis Association (Philta) to banner the national team in the upcoming Southeast Asian Games in Thailand this December.

Philta executive director Tonette Mendoza expressed hope that Eala, currently ranked World No. 65, will be able to fit the SEA Games into her busy schedule.

If Eala competes, it will be her opportunity to win her first SEA Games gold medal, having previously secured three bronze medals in the 2021 Hanoi edition.

The national team is also preparing for the Davis Cup Group III competition with the goal of advancing back to Group II.
